The intersection of 10th Street and 4th Avenue East has been nicknamed "Salvation Corner" because of the four magnificient churches, situated at the four corners.
The Nazarene Church,
St Georges Anglican Church,
Division St Presbyterian-United Church
The First Baptist Church.
Just one block away used to be "Damnation Corner" where four notorious taverns occupied the four corners, during the rip-roaring days, when Owen Sound was a thriving, industrial sea-faring harbor city.
I have counted twenty three churches within the urban area of Owen Sound, all very actively providing for the spiritual, social and cultural needs of the area. Talk about a "Month of Sundays".
